David Turner Interim President

David P Turner is the Chief Operating Officer and founding partner of CNS Hospice, a Medicare and Medicaid-certified hospice program, offering end-of-life care, support, and education in the tri-county area since 2014. Before founding CNS, David consulted in the development and early operations of several hospice agencies in Metro Detroit. While his area of specialty is the delivery of high-quality care to the patients and families of individuals with life-limiting illnesses, David has a passion for working with the caregivers of our community’s geriatric population and is also an active supporter of many organizations including the Detroit Area Agency on Aging and the Senior Alliance. David is a proud alumnus of Michigan State University.


David Costa Esq is a practicing attorney principal investor and Chief Operating Officer of a private equity fund that focuses on metal fabrication and structural steel. As an attorney, Mr. Costa concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, secured and unsecured lending, leasing, and securities, handling compliance and other corporate finance and corporate transaction matters for publicly traded companies as well as counseling clients conducting and otherwise participating in private offerings.

Mr. Costa has lent his skills and talents to many non-profit philanthropic endeavors over the years and is now principally focused on his work with Universal Dementia and the Detroit Public Library Friends Foundation where he is a current Board Member. In this capacity, he has most recently led the organization to acquire original art to beautify the Children’s Reading Room of the Detroit Public Library. Mr. Costa is a graduate of the University of Michigan, AB, 1984, and a graduate of The Wayne State University Law School, JD, 1988.


Sandra D. Adams, CFP®, is a Partner and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional at Center for Financial Planning, Inc. and holds a CeFTTM designation.

Having joined The Center team in 1996, Sandy has more than 20 years of financial planning industry experience.  Sandy specializes in Elder Care Financial Planning and is a frequent speaker on related topics with the Michigan Association of CPAs, Wayne State University Institute of Gerontology (WSU IOG), SOAR (Society for Active Retirees), AICPA (Association of International Certified Professional Accountants) and other public and professional groups.  In addition to volunteering for the WSU IOG, Alzheimer’s Association, and other local nonprofits, Sandy enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She has a Master’s Degree in gerontology, Eastern Michigan University; a Bachelor of Science, from Eastern Michigan University; and many certifications.


Peter A. Lichtenberg, Ph.D., ABPP is the Director of The Institute of Gerontology and a Professor of Psychology at Wayne State University. He received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and his master’s and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University. After his internship, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in geriatric neuropsychology at the University of Virginia Medical School where he also became a faculty member. Dr. Lichtenberg, one of the first board-certified Clinical Geropsychologists in the nation have made contributions to the practice of psychology across a variety of areas and is a nationally recognized experts in the areas of financial capacity and financial exploitation among older adults. He has authored 7 books and over 200 scientific articles in ecopsychology. He served as the 2022 President of the Gerontological Society of America and is the 2023 GSA Chairman of the Board of Directors.
